After 40 years in the Electronics / Automation world I started the Fusion Workshop in 2012 as an outlet for my "paying" hobby of furniture making and design. It was a reprieve from the high tech industry I worked in. I designed and made most of the furniture in my own home and other furniture I have designed and made on commission. I turned pens, bowls, pepper mills etc. to pay for the tools. I wanted to raise my game and bring my services up to date by introducing a laser to the workshop in 2018. I was then able to cut router templates, engrave logos and personalise my wooden objects. Keeping to my high tech roots I purchased a 3D printer in 2019 and found it invaluable for projects in the workshop, making copies of obsolete parts etc. The 3D print side of the business is gaining traction since the Covid-19 crisis has brought the technology to the public eye.
I have been working with 3D CAD almost from the beginning in the late 80's when it was crude, but amazing. I currently use Fusion 360 by AutoCad.
This year in April I took the plunge and went self employed to share my skills and experience and to offer other Makers like myself the opportunity to take their work to the next level and introduce these three advanced processes to their work.
Recent projects have taken me back to my roots as an electronics engineer and I have now added electronic circuit design, along with PCB design using Fusion PCB. So now I am able to offer a complete service from schematic to pcb design to final enclosure design/print and small prototype production.
Take a look at the three detail sections to see what I can offer to help turn your ideas into a reality.
